Analysis of the educational needs of social workers in municipalities in relation to housing provision

The presented monograph represents a complex material that provides a picture of the situation of social workers employed by the municipalities with extended jurisdiction, municipalities with local authorities and the administrative districts of Prague in the area of their educational attainment, further educational needs with regard to the topic of social assistance to people in housing need and to the topic of social housing. The monograph also captures the context of the performance of social work at the municipalities aimed at the target group of people in housing need, e.g. the current scope of activities of municipal social workers focused on the target group and the basic evidence of the situation in the municipalities in terms of the availability of social housing, social services, appropriate to the given audience, and last but not least also the presence of socially excluded territories. The monograph also highlights barriers which may face municipal social workers in their activities in social housing. The monograph is based on findings gained during a unique research which used a mixed-method design. Specifically, have been used these methods: focus group, Delphi method and questionnaire survey. Thus, the study is based not only on the views of municipal social workers themselves but also on the views of their managers and also a large group of experts in the area.
