Comprehensive rehabilitation (respectively rehabilitation of people with disabilities) is a coherent process of medical, vocational, social and pedagogical rehabilitation. Its main objective is to minimalize the consequences of individual’s disability. Timely, continuous and coordinated effort of the fastest and widest participation of persons with disabilities in all the usual activities of life is the crucial factor in the process of successful rehabilitation. 
This monograph deals with the legislation and the functioning of rehabilitation of people with disabilities in selected countries, particularly in Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and the Slovak Republic. These findings should help in the adoption of legal standards in the area of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Czech Republic.
