Flexible forms of employment in selected EU countries

The aim of the monograph was to analyze application and regulation of flexible forms of employment in selected EU member states and possibility of implementation of European countries´ approaches in the Czech Republic. For the purpose of solving the problem it was chosen combination of secondary analysis of information resources and case studies of application and regulation of flexible forms of employment in selected EU member states. National case studies of the use of flexible forms of employment, their legislative frameworks and their impact on productivity and compet¬i¬tiveness have been written up by foreign experts under a single structure defining the key thematic areas. Furthermore SWOT analysis was used to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of selected flexible forms of employment to use on labor market in the Czech Republic. For processing the recommendations and results of the SWOT analysis of the possible implementation of selected measures in the Czech Republic were also taken into account the findings obtained from discussions with representatives of employers, employees and the state.
Study of the application of flexible forms of employment in selected EU countries showed, compared with the Czech Republic there are not significant differences in terms of the existence of different types of flexible work. As desirable it rather seems to focus on increasing the range of use of already existing flexible forms of employment by means modification of their treatment. One of the few new forms of flexible employment, about their introduction in the Czech Republic can be considered, is a" job sharing ".
