Description:

The basic objective of the project „Active ageing, family and intergenerational solidarity” was to realize a second wave of a panel survey Generations and Gender Survey (GGS). The survey provided representative data for analyses of demographic and social phenomena, especially concerning family formation, life of different social and demographic groups of the Czech population as well as intergenerational and gender relationships. The main accomplished tasks were: 1) On the basis of data from two waves of the panel survey GGS and additional data resources the analyses on the topics of demographical behaviour, demographic ageing, population health, gender inequalities and family policy were worked out and published. 2) Analyses were carried out concerning social and economic connections of ageing resulting from a lower labour productivity and a dynamics of earnings at old age (a situation of people older than 50 on the labour market and their earnings, consumption expenses and customs of seniors). 3) A survey on the topic of financial literacy as a part of preparation for ageing with respect to life style preferences at old age was carried out. Results were published e.g. in a context of life-long learning and active ageing. 4) Consequences or conclusions for public policies were formulated in some of published articles and books on the basis of the worked out analyses, namely for family policy as well as labour market policy, health, fiscal, education and housing policies or policy of equal rights.
