Description:

Housing costs and benefits associated with living have started play increasing role in the current welfare system. This is due to several circumstances, both the lack of other available solutions such as social housing, deregulation of housing sector and the growing overall housing costs.
The aim of the project is to evaluate the role of housing costs and benefits associated with housing in the case of beneficiaries of material need´s allowances. For this purpose were anonymous individual data of the recipients of material need´s benefits analyzed for 6 periods through the years 2008-2011.
The analysis were focused on the structure of households and their members that were beneficiaries of housing allowances in the reference period (in terms of the presence of dependent children, old age and disability pensioners and in terms of economic activity and labor market status of individuals) and forms of housing in which households and individuals live. Furthermore an assessment of the role of the housing allowances in the total household income was done.
