Description:

With reference to selected EEA countries, the project addresses the social security of persons who, for reasons of a long-term adverse health condition which arose before reaching 18 years of age, are not systematically prepared for the labour market and who in adulthood are unable to ensure income from economic activity (i.e. primarily the legal framework in which social security is ensured, the extent of benefits both financial and non-financial and the methods employed for the calculation of such benefits). The project also addresses the question of how such persons are secured in cases where they decide to migrate from a given country to another EU country or third countries and describes the historical development of relevant legislation over the past 10 years.
