Description:

The aim of the project is to provide a description of all the Czech Republic’s most significant (insurance and non-insurance) social systems, as well as to outline the various social situations covered by the individual social systems. A further objective is to characterise the direct and indirect links between these social systems, including the pension system, and including the identification of suitable data for the quantification of the relationships identified. The project provides an overview of the relationships between the pension system and the housing benefit, assistance in material need, sickness insurance, family policy and state social support, employment policy, education policy, social services and the health and long-term care systems. The output of the project consists of a structured description of the direct and indirect relationships between individual social systems and the pension system which will serve principally as a set of research hypotheses for further research on these links. The mutual interdependence of the various social systems is a logical consequence of the fact that these systems work in principle with the same set of participants served according to particular life situations. Some relationships between the systems are clear at first glance, whereas others can only be revealed following a detailed analysis of the rules that determine the structure of and entitlements paid out by the individual systems.
