The main goal of the project is to map attitudes and opinions of Third Country Nationals (TCNs) on the integration into Czech majority society. The project is based on a detailed analysis of subjective perception and evaluation of relationships between TCNs and the majority society in the context of their own integration process.
Based on monitoring the course of integration process, a spectrum of interactions between TCNs and the majority will be defined, affecting the attitudes and opinions of TCNs towards the majority and their willingness to integrate into the society.
Using data analysis of a quantitative research, the project will evaluate relationships, perceptions and attitudes of TCNs towards the majority society, its nature and specifics which determine and shape the course of integration process. The study will create an overview of effects and influences that reinforce incentives of TCNs to integrate or, on the contrary, slow down the integration process, do not support or impede it.
The findings obtained will be used to formulate recommendations and measures how to increase social cohesion and understanding between TCNs and the majority society. This will encourage an appropriate focus and help to take adequate integration measures in order to achieve the greater TCNs´involvement within the integration process and strengthen their integrative motivation.
In addressing this issue, the research will be carried out with using the findings of the previous projects aimed at identifying barriers to the TCNs´integration process in the Czech Republic (“Barriers of the Integration Process from the Perspective of Third Country Nationals”, EIF 2010-26), analysis of the scope of assistance services for TCNs and their demand for these services (“Continuous Monitoring of Barriers to the Integration of Third Country Nationals with respect to assistance services activity”, EIF 2011-07 and “How do Centres for the Integration of Third Country Nationals (TCNs) operate? Research Study”, EUF 2012-05).
