| Description: | Survivor pensions are based on the historical social conditions in which man was a breadwinner and a woman stayed at home. The current form of the institute in the Czech Republic reflect a number of legislative changes following gender equality, but it does not respond to changes in demographic trends. The paper focuses on possible modifications of the institute of widow and widower pensions and the impact of such changes on the pension entitlements of women and men and financial balance of the pension system. |
